Less talk more action
We take our responsibility to our community, staff, environment and clients serious and are always striving to reduce our impact on the environment.
We also recognise our responsibility to give something back to society. In order to deliver our services as green and ethical as possible, and to make a positive contribution to society we actively practice the following when possible:
Sub-contractors, suppliers and events
• Work with sub-contractors and suppliers with an environmental policy that demonstrates their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.
• Recycle aluminium cans, glass and plastic bottles.
• Use recyclable items where appropriate, e.g. cutlery.
• Request electrical equipment that reduces energy consumption.
• Power by diesel not petrol.
• Request energy efficient and low energy vehicles on site where possible.
Community and charity
• Recruit locally.
• Offer work experience to young people and individuals from disadvantaged communities.
• Fund and deliver creative training programmes for young people.
• Support our nominated charity and champion not for profit organisations and social causes through cash and in-kind sponsorship.
• Offer discounted rates to charities and not for profit organisations.
Energy
• Switch off lights and electrical items at the wall at the end of the day.
• Where possible, lights are operated by sensors to eliminate waste.
• Use energy saving light bulbs.
• Ensure the thermostat is kept low at all times.
• Review energy consumption and efficiency when buying products.
Recycling and Paper
• Recycle as much waste such as possible. This includes computer equipment, printer cartridges and mobile phones.
• Minimise the use of paper by using technology.
• Reduce waste by re-using material as appropriate.
• Endeavour to use recycled products and materials as much as possible.
• Print on double side when possible.
Carbon footprint
• Encourage staff to use public transport, cycle or walk.
• Encourage visitors and guests at our events to use public transport to and from the event.
• Make use of technology to avoid travelling unnecessary to meetings such as email, video conferencing and phone.
These are just a few examples of how we employ different systems to deliver our services to reduce our overall carbon footprint and give back to society. Changes continue to be made as the demand for eco-friendly events and services grow.
